… I'm attaching a picture that … was taken at Ulaula Cabin in January
1975. In it are Sam Gon, Nina Hagiwara (sp?), Lorin, David Lee, and
Geraldine Cline (a few weeks before she died). It was taken the day after
one of worst and coldest hike I had ever been on. It rained from the end
of the Strip Road to the cabin. We were frozen to the core when finally
got there late in the afternoon, and Lorin's down bag was sopping wet.

... Here's a bunch from our 1977 Olokui Expedition that included my
friend Don Fox and John (can't remember last name). We stayed several
nights at the USGS cabin. On the way out, George Gohara of the USGS and
several others shared their steaks and scotch with us. I had to resize
huge scanned slide files.

Some years ago someone gave me a copy of Lorin's list and map of the
ili of Wailau. I made a pdf of it. In 1974 I remember hiking down
the trail from Kekumu trying to memorize the ili signs placed along the
trail.

Here are two more pictures ... taken in Nov. 1976 when Lorin, Dana, Chris Yuen, and I trekked from
Pelekunu to Wailau and out to Ili Ili Opae Heiau.
