Single Loop Colonial era fire steel or flint striker. This is based on a standard English trade item ca. 1700, and would have been carried by a farmer, settler, hunter, soldier, or traded to one of the Tribes in the British Colonies from the early 1700's up through the Revolution. Originals have been found throughout the Colonies, and across the mountains into the Old Northwest Territory and the Middle Grounds of Kentucky and Tennessee. For someone recreating a settler or hunter in the Middle Grounds. Size is approximately 3 1/4 inch by 1 1/4 inch, and 1/8 inch thick.
