Memories of Chinatown
New York City, New York

Chinatown in New York City was and is a conclave of immigrant Chinese trying to survive, assimilate and integrate into the surrounding American culture, yet still preserving the culture and customs of their ancestors. Immigrants from China pass through daily; some stay for generations, others flit through in their rush to pursue the American Dream, their passage sending ripples across the flow of time.

We immigrated here, or were born here. We played, attended school, dated, married, gave birth, divorced, re-married, died... in every facet of human existence.

These are our memories of mid 20th Century in NY Chinatown.

Chinatown-NYC Email list and Forum

If you were part of the 1940's through 1970's NYC Chinatown scene, you can subscribe to the Chinatown-NYC email list and forum. It's a geat way to keep in touch with old friends and the old neighborhood. Connect with the old gang,  gossip a bit, share memories.

You can  join eather and / or both the email list and the forum.

You can choose to receive individual emails or a single summary email listing all messages from the last 24 hours. This latter is the digest option.Of course, you can always sign onto the Yahoogroup to read previouse, archived messages, too.
